Park Yoo Chun Sweeps The 'Best New Actor' Awards This Year

Actor Park Yoo Chun won the ‘Best New Male Actor’ title at
the ‘35th Blue Dragon Film Awards’. As he received the award, he made a
record of ‘Grand Slam’ by winning 4 new actor awards this year.
CJeS Entertainment said, “Park Yoo Chun won the ‘Best New Male Actor’ at the ‘35th Blue Dragon Film Awards’, which was held at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on December 17. As he won 4 awards this year with his first film ‘Sea Fog’, he proved his ability as an actor.”
Prior to the ‘35th Blue Dragon Film Awards’, he won the best new male actor at the ‘34th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards’, ‘51st Grand Bell Awards’, and ‘15th Busan Film Critics Awards’. Therefore, he recorded the ‘grand slam’ by winning another one today at the ‘35th Blue Dragon Film Awards’.
In film ‘Sea Fog’, Park Yoo Chun played the innocent and youngest sailor ‘Dong Shik’ and had a fluent command of Yeosu dialect. In addition, he showed great harmony with other actors of the movie and surprised the mass public.
Park Yoo Chun said, “I really appreciate. I was able to learn many people put so much effort only for one film. Again, I truly thank everyone for giving me such a great award for my first film. I will try to show my best from now on” in his acceptance speech.

JYJ‘s Park Yoochun won the “Best New Male Actor” award at the 35th Blue Dragon Film Awards for his role in “Sea Fog.”
The actor has made a big splash on the big screen as he took home many “Best New Male Actor” awards from various film award ceremonies this year such as the Beautiful Artists Awards, the Korean Film Critics Association, and the Busan Film Critics Award.
Park Yoochun played the role of Dongsik in the movie, which was directed by Shim Sung Bo.
Other contenders for the award were Kim Woo Bin (“Friend 2”), Im Siwan (“The Attorney”) Ahn Jae Hong (“The King of Jokgu”), and Choi Jin Hyuk (“The Divine Move”).

Park Yoo Chun has received the Best New Actor award at the Blue Dragon AwardsOn December 17, the 35th Blue Dragon Awards took place at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Jongno, where Park Yoo Chun received the Best New Actor Award.
Following his awards at the 51st Daejong Film Awards, the 15th Busan Film Critics Association, and the 4th SACF Beautiful Artists Awards, this will be his fifth award of the year.
Park Yoo Chun was up against Friend 2′s Kim Woo Bin, The King of Jokgu′s Ahn Jae Hong, The Attorney′s Im Si Wan, and The Divine Move′s Choi Jin Hyuk.
"I′m a little dazed to receive an award as soon as the ceremony started, but I′m sincerely grateful," said Park Yoo Chun.
"First off, I learned that a large number of people suffer in order to film a movie while I was filming my first movie," said Park Yoo Chun. "I learned that acting is not an easy thing and studied even more. I sincerely thank you for this great award for my first movie."
"I think that my family who is here and my father in heaven will be very proud of me," continued Park Yoo Chun. "I sincerely thank the Sea Fog team. I′ll work hard in acting."
Sea Fog is about six crew members of a ship that try to smuggle illegal immigrants into Korea. Park Yoo Chun played the youngest member of the group, Seok Won, cutting off the tag of ′acting-dol′ and receiving the name ′rookie movie actor.′
The 35th Blue Dragon Awards is an award ceremony that looks back on all the Korean films that premiered in the past year. Through a selection process by professionals, surveys, and netizen voting, 18 different awards, including Best director, Best Leading Actor and Actress, Best Support Actor and Actress, and more, are given.
