On the night of January 9, KBS2’s new Friday drama ‘Spy’ had its first broadcast. On this night, ‘Spy’ provided high immersion and enjoyment to seem like as though viewers are watching a piece from a movie, not a drama that is airing 2 episodes consecutively from 9:30 pm to 11:10 pm [KST].

The mysterious car accident scene making its appearance in the beginning of the drama or the subway explosion scene, the action scenes were deployed in the right place; as well as, Bae Jong-ok who showed stable acting ability in each and every work she does, Yu Oh-seong who has his characteristic charisma, and Cho Dal-hwan’s and Kim Min-jae’s acting that were called ‘scene stealers’, with acting that overflowed with individuality; all were created to allow one’s immersion into the drama naturally.

The conspicuous thing among them is Kim Jaejoong’s performance. Kim Jaejoong has undertaken the role of NIS genius ace agent Seonwoo who boasts extraordinary brain [power] in ‘Spy’. But his family members only know Seonwoo as an ordinary civil servant. In this Seonwoo has various faces as a NIS field agent overflowing with charisma on the outside, as Hye-rim’s son who is considerably charming at home, and as a boyfriend.

To act as Seonwoo like this, Kim Jaejoong has assimilated naturally into the constantly-changing character and his own presence is fully shown among even the veteran actors; like Bae Jong-ok, Yu Oh-seong, and etc.

Although he hasn’t started acting for a long time; there’s great expectations for Kim Jaejoong because he has shown his growing image in each and every work he does so far; and also Kim Jaejoong has solidified his position as an ‘actor’ once again through ‘Spy’ this time. There are favorable reviews lined up over Kim Jaejoong’s acting ability, as well as, favorable reviews over ‘Spy’ after viewers watch the drama, too.

Spy: Episode 1

If all spies were a vision to look at like Jaejoong is, I’d probably cave in and give up all my secrets within five minutes in the interrogation room. Thankfully Spy, the newest spy action drama on the KBS block offers more than a beautiful face to gaze upon. Not only is this show wonderfully directed, but its heart beats with the core relationship between a loving mother and her son.
At first glance, Mom might look like a housewife who adores her family and her son might seem like a regular guy who has a steady job. But the truth is that they both harbor secrets from one another that are far from ordinary. This recap covers the first episode of the double-header format of the show, but it certainly looks like Fridays are about to become pretty thrill-tastic.

LOL...Do not think this is an actual scene but cast/crew sort of staged it together for fun.
Looks like they all get along and filming is going smoothly.
Like JJ said, the director seems to move fast and likes to use the first take if he's satisfied.
That's good, I think that means the director knows what he wants and what he's looking for and very decisive.

JYJ’s Jaejoong Reveals What “Spy” Co-Star Go Sung Hee Ate Before Filming Their First Kiss Scene

On the January 10 broadcast of KBS’ “Entertainment Weekly,” the main cast of the drama “Spy” including JYJ’s Jaejoong, Bae Jong Ok, Go Sung Hee, and Yoo Oh Sung, sat down for an interview with the entertainment news program.
During the interview, Jaejoong shared a funny story about what happened prior to his very first kiss scene with his female co-star, actress Go Sung Hee.
Jaejoong started, “Before going into filming for our kiss scene, I contacted [Go Sung Hee] and asked her, ‘Did you eat?’ and she told me, ‘I’m going to eat samgyeopsal (fatty slices of pork belly) right now.’”
The JYJ member continued, “It occurred to me that I didn’t really need to get ready for [the kiss scene] since she’s eating samgyeopsal before the kiss scene. But even though she ate samgyeopsal, there was no smell, so I thought, ‘Wow, actresses are of a different class,’” causing everyone to laugh.

Q: SPY was aired yesterday. So we are doing this interview ASSUMING that SPY is a HIT.
Jae: "Thank you~many of my friends called me to tell that SPY is great and they had watch it well" 

Jae:" I always call her 'mum' even not filming. but is it ok? should I just call you noona?"

Jae :"should I call you noona?" (to his mum in SPY XD) and the others burst into laughter~keke~~

Jae:"I sent a message to her (GoSeongHee) before filming the kissing scene, 'have you eat?' ..she told me that she is going to eat SamGyeopSal.. but there is no SamGyeopSal smell during the filming..so I think that actress is really different (doesn't smell bad even after eating meat)

review: spy Episode 1

Spy is nice work. I just hope it doesn’t out to be some heartbreaking Mata Hari tale. KBS is airing two episodes back-to-back a week but I have decided to review the episodes separately. Jae Joong looks sharp and I like the calculated pace and sound plot enough so far. Cinematography is sleek, soundtrack is a great listen.
Our heroic South Korean spy, Kim Seon Woo (SW) is chatting causally on the phone with his mom while on a mission in China. Just as he hops into the getaway car, a truck smashes into its flank. The baddies roll out, led by Hwang Ki Chul (KC). Seon Woo’s poor colleague is stabbed to death and SW is about to suffer the same fate when XX sees SW’s family portrait in his wallet. Obviously, he recognises someone in there and barks orders to his lackeys to let SW live.
Park Hye Rim (HR), SW’s mother, gets a call informing her that SW has gotten in a traffic accident and is in hospital. She rushes to the hospital frantically. SW must have taken the next spy plane from China to South Korea. Spy team leader Song Jung Hyuk (JH)) tells SW he has to explain what happened during the mission gone wrong. HR barges into the room and frets over SW. JH hastily takes his leave and when HW inquires curiously who he is. SW fibs that JH is his team leader – not exactly a lie, more like a half-truth.

We meet SW’s Kim Woo Seok (WS), who is a busy, but pleasant, loving father and husband. He reassures HR over the phone that their boy will be fine. HR wonders why SW keeps going on business trips. She thought SW’s job as a civil servant would be a rather safe and uneventful one. Later, SW gets interrogated and passes the lie detector test with flying colours.
Meanwhile at home, HR is preparing a feast for dinner: SW is bringing his girlfriend home for the first time. SW is running late because of his interrogation, thus girlfriend Lee Yoon Jin (YJ) is left waiting in the cold outside his home. But SW’s parents spot her from the window and invite her in. Someone is watching her. YJ seems like the perfect girl but there is something about her that unsettles HR. They start dinner without SW so it’s just YJ and SW’s family. Awkward…I would loathe to be stuck in such a situation if I were YJ. When YJ mentions she is originally from China and her hometown is the very same one as HR, HR grows even more uncomfortable. SW’s sister accidentally knocks the water jug over and YJ catches it in speedy reflex. Another spy in our midst? Mata Hari sent to seduce SW?

SW finally returns home and the couple leave after a short while. WS comments he likes YJ, while HR shares that her six sense is telling her something is off with YJ. WS think she’s just being paranoid and jealous. Heh. The couple end up having drinks at a pretty café and YJ sighs that she didn’t make a good impression on HR.

A young girl, Soo Yeon (YS) gets thrown out of a van. She escapes her tail and quickly dials someone from a public pay phone. SW gets a call in the morning and he quickly gets going without touching his breakfast. Before he rushes off, he tells HR that he likes YJ because she is a lot like HR. Anyway. SR heads out to make contact with a turned North Korean spy who has indicated she wants to check in.
SW manages to spot the contact: they exchange a coded message. She is taken to the spy quarters for interrogation. The initial interrogation doesn’t go well and SW steps in. He manages to deduce where SY has been kept. SY begs him to save her family back in North Korea. HR is all happy after a sweet afternoon with her hubby but she is rudely interrupted by KC.



Spy is engaging and the narrative is actually not too bad considering the rather dubious timeline for a couple of things. I like the chemistry between SW and his mom, and the chemistry between his own parents. I like the 007-ish background music.

review: Spy Episode 2

Say what? My baby is a spy??? Hye Rim suffers the ultimate shock of her life when she discovers her warm, easy-going son has actually been keeping dangerous secrets from her and is quite the master of deceit. Inherited genes, maybe? But now that she knows her beloved son is a spook, what then now for her? Seon Woo also realises being a spy is not only about being good at guns, bombs and keeping secrets. It is also about keeping one’s intellect separate from the heart. And making mistakes is not an option and unforgivable.
KC calls HR by her real name and she slams the door in his face in fright. She dashes back to the kitchen and grabs a knife just as the door opens and KC walks in like he’s the master of the house. Urgh. He knows the password for the lock and he does note that a knife is missing. He opines that she probably thought that he died all those years ago but he lives with the battle scars, which look like burn scars.
He pours himself a drink and strolls over to the family portrait – which is the exact same miniature SW carries in his wallet. KC comments that HR has been living quite the life since: she has changed her name, married and has two kids. He notes that SW is probably the baby she was pregnant with in China that time…hmmmmm…
She attacks him with the knife and after a short spar, KC gains the upper hand. He tells her he needs her help for one final mission, after which they will forever go their separate ways. Back at the spy HQ, SW is asking SY to describe her the person in charge who rounded up all the suspected turned North Korean spies. He prompts her with his own hazy recollection of KC and he realises that the same man is responsible. SY begs him to save her family’s life and JH informs SW that they can’t make such promises. 



Back at home, KC is still going on about how HR’s hand in his present situation and picks up the phone to call SW, who is currently spying on his fellow spies. Heh. His mobile shrills and he quickly picks it up while pretending he was just walking by. KC is on the other line but doesn’t say anything. He cuts off the line and HR panics. SW returns the call and she shakily replies that she dialled him by mistake.
SW’s sister returns home from school just as KC is leaving. HE introduces himself as a old family friend of HR and gives her some pocket money before prancing off. HR nervously swallows down some pills and there it’s flashback time. I’m sure we’ll get quite a number of these. KC sees the ultrasound scan and orders HR to abort the baby. She refuses vehemently, saying that the baby belongs to “that person”. I’m assuming it is her hubby. Anyway, HR kinda strapped her handbag with a bomb, which she leaves with KC, and hits the button when she is a safe distance away. Argh. Now I know why KC is blistering with revenge. 



SW is unhappy that he has re-assigned to work under intelligence expert, Kim Hyun Tae (HT). HT reminds SW that spies operate using their minds and not their hearts. After changing the password on her door, HR starts sweeping her apartment for bugs. She switches on the vacuum cleaner to full power to throw off KC, who is listening in. Eeeeeeks. She finally finds a bug in her fancy lamp but leaves it there. WS returns home and is surprised to see the mess. 



SW has nightmares about his colleague’s tragic death in China and of KC. He shudders awake and he’s actually in bed at YJ’s place. YJ pleads with him not to put his life on the line under any circumstance. They chat about SW’s family and when SW comments that he and YJ will become family one day too, she replies carefully that might not happen. She may be a North Korean spy or someone bent on revenge… The first episode revealed that KC is watching her. 



HR is thinking whether to tell WS what happened but she is wary that her bedroom may be bugged too. WS heads out of the bedroom to take a call and sees SW sitting in the dark alone in the living room. He asks his son whether he is having trouble at work and SW admits that he is sorta having a tough time at the office. WS sits next to SW and throws his arm about him warmly and gives him simple advice: do things without regret. 



HR is in a parent-teacher event at school when KC calls her. She leaves abruptly and does as he says, which includes getting into disguise. Meanwhile, SW talks to SY again and assures her he wants to catch the culprit as much as she because KC killed his colleague. HR does her part, which is to drop off a briefcase at the subway. She phones KC and warns him to keep his promise, to which he drawls that he too wants her to lead a happy life. Yeah, right. 



But the bag explodes. Yikes. The incident is all over the news that night. HR watches the news report with trepidation with her kids. CCTVS have captured HR but she her disguise is a pretty good one. But she gets sent a clip of herself in full view with the briefcase in the subway. She freaks out and KC calls her. Just as she is arguing with him, he informs her that SW is a South Korean spy. When she insists that SW is just a civil servant, KC shares that SW’s recent injuries were inflicted by him when they met in China. KC compliments SW: he is quick, strong and great at keeping secrets and deception.
In disbelief, HR stares at her son, who is calmly watching TV. It suddenly dawns on her – those numerous business trips now make sense. SW turns around and flashes his mother a warm smile…and HR is left caught between a rock and a hard place.




Phew. I loved that last scene of SW turning around to smile innocently at his mother just when she finds out that he is a spy for the country – HR suddenly realises her son may be just as good as keeping secrets as she. So technically, in KC’s mind, SW is his enemy and HR will be caught between two loyalties. Of course, her loyalty is with her son and family, but KC isn’t going to it easy for her to protect them. If she follows his orders, she’ll be committing treason against South Korea and betraying her family. If she chooses to disregard KC, he is going to reveal she was behind the incident in the subway and most probably will hurt her family. SIGH.
The first two episodes of Spy went off without a hitch and do set the tone nicely for the drama. The cast are comfortable in their roles and the story is told with a steady, deft hand. I like it off-the-bat and to me, it more than delivered because I was engaged throughout. KBS’s Friday night dramas are becoming my staple of the week…

'Spy - Drama' Spy Bae Jong-ok and NIS agent Kim Jae-joong, tragedy begins

The tragedy between loving mother and son has started.
On the first episode of KBS 2TV 'Spy - Drama', Park Hye-rim (Bae Jong-ok) was threatened by Hwang Gi-cheol (Yoo Oh-seong) to work on a mission per his request. However, her son Kim Seon-woo (Kim Jae-joong), an agent of National Intelligent Services was tracking down Hwang Gi-cheol (Yoo Oh-seong).
Park Hye-rim , an ex-spy sent by North Korea was visited by her old fellow spy, Hwang Gi-cheol. He threatened Park Hye-rim to deliver an explosive device to a subway station. She followed his order believing his words he would let her live free after the one time mission. Hwang Gi-cheol recorded her when she was installing the explosive device and threatened her again with the video and gave her another task to complete, which she should pull her son into their side.
Park Hye-rim said "Seon-woo is just a government officer. Don't involve Seon-woo in this". Hwang Gi-cheol disclosed the fact Kim Seon-woo was an NIS agent and was on track after him. Hwang Gi-cheol finally said if Park Hye-rim would bring her son into their side, then she would be set free.
While Kim Seon-woo was such a mama's boy, who is so close to his mother, Park Hye-rim , she now had a secret kept from him. This frustrating situation heightened curiosity in viewers as to how the ex-spy mother would be able to cope with the situation.

[NEWS] 150109 Park Yoochun, “I’m the best in playing Halli Galli” Release recent ‘bright & innocent’ condition

Active as a singer-and-actor, Park Yoochun(JYJ) reported his recent condition.

On January 9, Park Yoochun released his photos together with the words “I’m the best in playing Halli Galli! It’s totally fun” on his Chinese SNS Weibo.

In the released photos, Park Yoochun is wearing a wool hat in short sleeves. In addition he is captivating women’s hearts showing an optimistic and bright innocent smile as he really enjoys winning in Halli Galli.

Netizens who saw the photos showed various reactions: “So cute, Park Yoochun” “Are you going to the army now..” “Where are the other members?” and expressed interests toward Park Yoochun.

Meanwhile, Park Yoochun was awarded the 34th Korean Film Critics Association Awards’ Best Newcomer award and the 51st Daejong Film Awards’ Best Male Newcomer award last year. [TRANS] 150108 Korepo Report: JYJ Decorates the Finale of [Ichigo Ichie] Japan Dome Tour with Deeply Moved Tears!

(T/N: a long report on finale of JYJ Japan Dome Tour. I thought it would give everyone a good picture of the whole dome performance set-up and what each member said roughly. Hope you enjoy reading!)

Korea’s top artists JYJ held their Japan Dome Tour [2014 Japan Dome Tour ~ Ichigo Ichie ~] at Fukuoka Yahoo Auction Dome on 24th Dece,ber (Wed).
The tour which started on 18th November in Tokyo Dome proceeded to Osaka, and then on 23rd and 24th for 2 days, JYJ decorated their dome tour finale with their first Fukuoka concerts with roaring success.

On 24th Christmas eve, while fans eagerly waited in their Christmas cos-play (T/N: costumer play, meaning wearing a costume to become someone/something else) holding JYJ goods, the dome went into darkness.
Penlights the fans were holding shone red all at once, covering one side of the dome with red waves.
When the screen showed clips of Junsu, Yuchun, Jaejoong one-by-one, voices of the audience flew about shouting out the members’ names.
When dancers in black costumes sure to heighten the excitment of the dome came out to show-off their acrobatic dance moves, the screen close up on [JYJ] logo.
When Jaejoong, Yuchun and Junsu appeared on the top stage dressed in black/gold glittering costumes, the place went into a storm of happiness.
When they sang the opening number “Empty” on top of a firery stage, their powerful dance and voices raised the voltage of the place at once but yet during their ballad number “Ayy Girl (R&B ver)” the place was wrapped up in their sweet voices, capturing fans’ hearts very early into the concert.
The place was in an uproar reaching the highest climax with their even more passionate performances since its the tour finale.

After receiving fanatic responses, the opening stage ended and MC time starts.
After Jaejoong’s “welcome to JYJ Dome Tour in Fukuoka!” and Junsu’s call “good evening everyoone~! I’m Junsu of JYJ. 2014 Asia Tour ends today. For this, I will put in all my energy from the start till the end, going with my all strength so everyone! Let’s enjoy till the end!”, the place shook with roars of cheers.
Fans were nodding in agreement when these words were spoken “good evening this is Jaejoong. Its the last one today right. Although we just started, it feels lonely right (as the final performance)”.
When he said “and Merry Christmas everyone!”, the audience responded with loud cheers of “Merry Christmas” back.
Jaejoong further continued with “since its Christmas today, let’s enjoy with a special performance we prepared oinly for today. Thank you” and raised expectations towards the performance while passing the baton to Yuhcun.
“I’m Yuchun of JYJ!” he greeted and gave out a huge sigh with “today is the last of this tour right. Haaaaaa~” and continued “dome tour, I want to do it one more time you know”. At these words, the dome was filled with voices responding in a split second “we want!!”
“But….. JYJ will also try hard so please give us your support till the end!” said Yuchun.
After “until the end, ready to enoy, OK~!” shouted by Yuchun in his usual style, the second stage started!
“And so please listen to this” sayid Jaejoong, introducing the number “Let Me See”.
After feeling intoxicated with that gem of a harmony created with these 3 beautiful voices, everyone in the dome was then intoxicated with “In Heaven”, the masterpiece ballad that stimulates all our 5 senses.

The fans, applauding loudly with all their emotions after each song, complimented the 3 members’ performances towards making this the best LIVE.
A clip was shown on screen to look back at their activities as JYJ and as individuals, and when the words [now is the time to show a new look ~…..] appeared, it was time for the special solo performances.
Jaejoong appeared in chic black-base clothes sitting on a chair and sang emotionally to Nakajima Miyuki’s [Kesho], while Junsu also sang Nakajima Miyuki’s [Kimi to Sora no Aida]. Yuchun then followed with Fukuyama Masaharu’s [Sai Ai].
While they delivered these emotional ballads which fit their individual image exactly, everyone was so touched that some fans who even shed tears.
Then the atmosphere took a complete change, and Jaejoong appeared wearing a leather jacket with frills showing off a look mixed with sexiness and charisma singing passionately to [Butterfly].
This was a rock number elegant and bewitching like a butterfly, and the audience was sucked into a vortex of passion.

 “Everyone, are you ready to go crazy?” shouted Jaejoong and everyone responded with “Yeah~!”
And to further words of “go crazy? You sure?”, fans shouted even louder “Yeah~!”
“Coz today is the finale. We have enjoyed those concerts we did until now too but today everyone please force yourselves a little…. like this [I am normally like this but because its the finale I’ll put in more for you] (laugh). Like more crazy then usual….. To the level that will shock even the friend you came with today….. I want you to enjoy today with that kind of tension!” said Jaejoong encouraging the fans and finally “next song, you know what it is right?”
“First floor, second floor Ultra Soul!” {Jaejoong) “Hey!” (fans) “now everybody! Ultra Soul!” (Jaejoong) “Hey!” (fans), the call & response continued like this.
With cheers that filled-up the entire place, “I’m going to ride this tide!” said Jaejoong and went on to do [Ultra Soul] by B’z.
Fans who got excited during the MC where Jaejoong captured their hearts, then screamed his name “Jaejoonggggggg~!” loudly and shook the floor together with Jaejoong.

Next up was Yuchun wearing a greyish jacket.
When he sang the R&B-flavor number [I Love You] with his charismatic high tone and heavy low notes voice, the dome reacted with unbreaking applauses and cheers that sounded like howling. (T/N: can’t help it just want to comment here that this use of “howling” by the reporter was just hilarious and so apt!)
While reciprocating to screams of female fans, he also expressed his appreciation to the many male fans’ cheers when they said “Yuchun-san, I love  you” (T/N: very difficult to translate DAISUKI coz it can mean LOVE it can mean like a lot etc. but I’ll go with LOVE coz I believe its closer), prompting him to joke “that’s a little (laugh)” (T/N: meaning he CAN’T reciprocate lol) and making everyone laughed.
As today is the tour’s final day, Yuchun said with regret “now, I want time to stop. I mean, I think members may do individual LIVE but as JYJ probably 3 years, 4 years later….” and the audience went “eeeeehhhh~!” in shocked.
As if tto make it sound better to himself too, Yuchun explained “I mean, we are going for military service right”
After pausing for a breath, he continued “but please wait for us JYJ” and everyone responded back “we’ll wait~!!!”
Changing the topic, “its kind of exciting coz its Christmas right? I was excited with Junsu yesterday (laugh) when Junsu said at the side of the stage [what do I do? This really makes me uncomfortable you know]. But sorry Junsu (laugh), I personally want to give fans a Christmas present….. I want our performance today to be a present from us” said Yuchun and went on to perform [30] and after that whispered “everyone, I love you” to huge cheers from fans.

Last from the solo section was Junsu wearing pure-white long coat.
Strong yet beautiful voice singing “because you are not alone, because I will protect you ~” to fans like he is talking to them with AI’s [STORY], and was drown with applauses.
“It’s been a while so my Japanese may not convey my meaning 100% but it’s great to be able to communicate in Japanese right? All of you are so kind. Even when I used ridiculous Japanese you will understand me and I feel thankful everytime” expressing his gratefulness.
“And so its the same today, are you ready?” he shouted and there were cheers heard from male fans.
In response to those cheers, he said “can I hear the guys’ voices today? One – two!” and the male fans cheered “Junsuuuuuuu~!!”
Furthermore, “and from now!” said Junsu, “Junsu Time!” shouted fans as per usual, and an intensive performance started.
To the strong electron sound, Junsu performed [Incredible] with the dancers and overwhelmed the audience with a perfectly-executed dance performance and his predominant singing skill.

The stage started again with 3 of them singing [So So].
As its Christmas eve today and finale of dome tour, Junsu, Jaejoong and Yuchun appeared on the top stage cos-play as snowman, Santa Claus and Tree!
Fans went wild with excitment at how cute the 3 of them looked.
The simple performance, born from 3 of them wanting to make fans happy, brought delight to the audience.

While singing Yuchun’s hit-drama [Sungkyunkwang Scandal] theme song [Chachatta], they moved towards the sub-stage.

They were moving slowly towards audience at the back.
When the 3 of them were approaching slowly on the moving stage, everyone was overjoyed!
Junsu said “after debuting 10 years, this is a first cos-play for me (laugh)”. “Yes, for Junsu and me (laugh). But Jaejoong is sexy right” quipped Yuchun.
“We are almost turning 30 and frankly this is too embarrassing” Jaejoong said shyly while Junsu quipped “at first there was talk about dressing-up as girls but on a moving stage you can see…..(T/N: erhm, I supposed you can imagine them wearing SKIRTS and hence….) so we gave up on that” bringing continuous laughters from everyone.
In addition, Jaejoong started doing “adult” talk and the place went into an uproar.
In the midst of singing SMAP’s popular song [Lion Heart] and [Be My Girl], 3 of them went on separate trams and gifted audience with color balls that included their signatures, toys, and even the costumes they wore, making one round of the dome to the delights of fans.

JYJ appeared again after changing into dark blue outfits and sang the title track [BACK SEAT] in their new album [JUST US], followed by [Be the One] and [Valentine], and finally there remains only 1 song.
“It’s time to introduce our final song but….. Time passes so fast right. Its amazing how fast time passed from Yuchun’s [are you ready!] just now. I don’t want to do the next song. I mean, today is the last time”.
In addition, “when the new single release has been confirmed, we shouted BANZAI! (T/N: we did it) It’s the same happiness we feel when we first took No 1 on the weekly chart after debut in Japan. So this moment should not be a lonely time for us but a waiting moment for new happiness I think. Because today is Christmas eve, I want to part with you all while smiling”, and further “let us introduce the new song to be release on 21 January” before performing [Wake Me Tonight].

After singing [Get Out] during encore, Junsu said “with the next song our [2014 JYJ Japan Dome Tour] ends. When we started off in China, I was also doing musical then and frankly it was tough but today I really feel lonely. Until now even when we couldn’t appear on TV or in the midst of various bad situations, we could overcome everything and be here now because of you all. I feel that I can prepare for my next step with your support and love. I will continue to do my best”. Jaejoong sighed with deep emotion ” after becoming the name JYJ there will be no next, we don’t know what will happen next. Everyday we feared what’s to come tomorrow. Everytime we performed in Japan we always say [we can meet again] but we don’t know when that will be and spent our time while watching over that period of “uncertain future”. But this concert I felt the trust with you and the really deep love that is like an assurance that we can certainly keep doing this. Although we talk about going into military service soon, I am coming to Yokohama in January (laugh). We won’t be meeting for 2 years but 2 years is short so just wait for us for a while alright”.
Yuchun also said “yesterday I was listenig to some good old songs with Jaejoong in the car after a long while. I want to make beautiful memories too from now. This beautiful memories cannot be made without all of you and without Jaejoong and Junsu….. Let’s make beautiful memories with JYJ and all of you from now. Thank you today” warm words from his heart.

To Jaejoong who said he didn’t want to do the next song, Yuchun proposed “then let’s do A Cappella” and the entire dome echoed with a huge roar of roof-penetrating loud cheers.
Everyone was super-excited when their A Capalle harmonized beautifully.
They sang [NINE] written by Jaejoong.
[BEGIN] was sang durng double=encore.
3 of them were filled with deep emotions and couldn’t control their crying.
Fans there were also crying, and finally they took a picture with fans behind them and promised to come back again, ending Japan Dome Tour’s finale with tears and emotions.
This Japan Dome Tour mobilized 240,000 people starting from November, performing at Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka.
After proving their continuous-polularity, JYJ will release their first Japan single [Wake Me Tonight] on 21 January.

Junsu breaks silence about fraud accusation

JYJ member Junsu’s agency broke the silence on Thursday about the fraud accusation against the idol raised by Korean builders in December.

“Junsu is not involved in the hotel business, so he has nothing to do with the recent development of the case,” his label C-JeS Entertainment said. 

The explanation comes after two Korean construction companies filed a complaint against Junsu for alleged fraud in mid-December. They accused the 33-year-old idol of not paying back the money they claimed to have lent him, worth 5 billion won ($4.5 million). 

The builders constructed the luxurious Toscana Hotel on Korea’s southern resort island of Jejudo, in which Junsu invested 28.5 billion won. The 61-room hotel opened in September.

In a complaint filed at Gangnam Police Station, the builders claimed that they lent the money to Junsu on two occasions over the past two years to help him repay bank loans and they secured his promissory note to pay them back by September 2015. 

Junsu, however, dismissed the accusation, vowing to take legal action against the builders for embezzling construction expenses.

“We have now secured solid evidence that the two companies charged us double the amount of the construction expenses,” a hotel spokesperson said in a press release. 

Gangnam Police Station is scheduled to launch a probe into the case soon.

Kim Jaejoong finally grabbed his golden chance. He starred in many MBC dramas including <Dr. Jin> and <Triangle> and he has finally stepped into KBS’s drama to extend his acting fields.
<Spy> is a remake of Israelis drama which depict a former North Korean agent who lives an ordinary life of a housewife. Her life is on a risk when she undertakes a task to win her son over, Sun-woo, who is North Korea data analyst.
The combination of the interesting plot, senior actors’s solid acting (including Bae Jong-ok, Yoo Oh-sung, and Jung Won-joong) and new actors’ cast in the drama raised much expectations of viewers.
Another reason <Spy> is garnering much attention is its unprecedented time slot. The drama is placed at 9:30pm on Friday which is unlike other weekday dramas that air at 10pm. In addition, two consecutive episodes will broadcast on the same day. The genre is also interesting. The plot is close to traditional family drama but its genre is defined as action noir. Moreover, the drama aims to be ‘funny’ which viewers of all ages can laugh and enjoy. What an interesting concept?
In fact, none of Kim Jaejoong’s drama have been huge hits. This is why his upcoming drama is getting our attention: can he prove his potential as an actor through <Spy>?

Q. Tell us about your character in the drama, Sun-woo.
At home, he is a mother’s boy. He was raised in a harmonious family with right-minded. However, when he works at National Intelligence Service, he is realistic. I wanted those two traits to make a good balance in the drama. I wanted to portray a character who changes over time due to external factors.
Q. It seems like you always play a character with strong impacts. What is the major difference of Sun-woo with other characters you’ve been playing?
Most people think that Sun-woo is a strong character because he is an employee at National Intelligence Service. However, Sun-woo is a humane and warm-hearted young man in his 20s. He experiences love with his family, girlfriend, and colleagues from work. However, he will show strong personality to solve conflicts
Q. How was your chemistry with Bae Jong-ok (playing his mom) and your lover in the drama Ko Sung-hee?
Bae Jong-ok sunbaenim is gorgeous and looks young. My mother is quite old, and it was good to act with young mother. It feels like being with a beautiful sister. Ko Sung-hee is a pretty actress and the more I see her, the more I feel that way. She has beautiful voice which want me to have more conversation with her.

Q. KBS has poor viewers rating especially on Friday night. Since the drama is placed on Friday, it must compete with SBS and tvN’s variety shows. You must feel burdened about it.
It would be great if we receive high viewers rating, but I’m not worried about it from an actor’s perspective. The drama is fresh and I try to see the bright side of it such as airing two episodes on one day. Moreover, the director is excellent and he works with fast pace. He films the next scene when he is satisfied with the first scene. I trust his abilities.
Q. Are you really not worried at all?
Well, if I have to say something, the director works really fast, so it’s hard to catch up. If we don’t do well, it’s going to be a mess. When an actor is not satisfied with his acting, he usually asks for another shooting, but he believes the first cut was good enough. His judgement is very accurate.
Q. Since this is your first KBS drama, please make a promise to viewers in case it surpasses your goal viewers rating. 
We our drama surpasses 10% viewers rating, I will donate home appliances to thirty North Korean defectors. Well, I’m going to squander all my pay again. Haha!

‘JYJ’ Kim Jaejoong blushed his face when sunbae actors praised his handsome face.
A press conference for new KBS2 Friday drama <Spy> was held at Ritz Carlton Hotel in Yeoksam-dong on January 6. Park Hyun-suk PD attended the event along with Bae Jong-ok, Kim Jaejong, Yoo Oh-sung, Jo Dal-hwan, and Ryu Hye-young.
Kim Jaejoong was praised for his polite manners and handsome looks by senior actors. Bae Jong-ok said “Jaejoong does not smile brightly, so sometimes he looks a bit snobby. However, he talks in a funny way and at one point, I felt as if he is a close friend. I misunderstood him because he was shrouded in secrecy by the press. I didn’t have chance to see his true personality.”
Jo Dal-hwan also stated “When I first saw Kim Jaejoong, I was taken aback because he seemed like a prince from a fairy-tale. He has big eyes. I was skeptical whether he would be humane, and colleagues actors all agreed that ‘he is a good man’. In fact, he surprises me everyday.”
Kim Jaejoong said “I feel burdened to hear that I look exaggeratedly handsome. Sunbae actors adore me at the film site. Many people know me as a singer and I guess they think I’m better in person”
He continued “Many fans send me gifts to the film set with a message ‘Please take a good care of Jaejoong’. I guess sunbae actors adore me because of my devoted fans.”
Meanwhile, <Spy> is a remake of Israelis drama which is a family drama combining spy-thriller genre.
Hye-rim (played by Bae Jong-ok) is a former North Korean agent who lives an ordinary life of a housewife. Her life is on a risk when she undertakes a task to win her son, Sun-woo, over who is North Korea data analyst. The drama premiers on January 9 at 9:30pm.

KBS has released new teaser stills for its upcoming drama “Spy,” in which the two leading actors Kim Jaejoong and Go Sung Hee can be seen enjoying a romantic date.
In the stills, the couple can be seen enjoying each other’s company at a hip cafe in Seoul. They are smiling at each other in the photos, and in one image, they are holding hands on the table.
The production staff told the media, “Kim Jaejoong and Go Sung Hee are both bright and active, so they got to know each other very quickly,” adding, “they have great chemistry together, so they are not having any issues filming their romance scenes.”
“Spy,” based on a hit Israeli drama, will tell the story of an ex-spy mother and a son who finds out about her secret. It will air every Friday, starting January 9.

Kim Jaejoong's Kissing Scenes Sometimes Require Several Takes

Even though filming his latest kissing scene was a chilling experience, Kim Jaejoong felt that it went well.

At the press conference for his new drama "Spy" he spoke about the chilly conditions he endured while filming a kiss scene with co-star Go Sung Hee.

"It was extremely cold," he said.

While the snowy day made for a romantic scene, it was an unpleasant work environment as the scene took three hours to shoot.

"The wind chill was almost negative 20 degrees Celsius and it started snowing all of a sudden," he said.

The director could not have asked for a prettier setting but the conditions made it harder to focus.

"The picture was really pretty,"  said Kim Jaejoong. "The snow fluttered as if we had planned it. Then huge snowflakes started to fall, followed by rain and then it turned to hail."

Although the scene took three hours to film he described the scene as "natural and touching.

"I am usually left still emotional for a while after filming a kissing scene or after scenes with affectionate touching," he said.

And that was the case with this scene.

The JYJ singer and actor was asked if he had any special techniques for filming kissing scenes. He says he does not.

"I don't have any tricks as to how to act in kissing scenes. It's true though that how I approach the scene changes depending on the partner."

He's kissed a few beautiful co-stars and the list grows longer as he adds to his acting resume. One of his early notable kisses was shared with Wang Ji Hye in "Protect The Boss." That kiss scene took some practice.

"I put a lot of effort into the kiss scene with Wang Ji Hye," he said when he appeared on Choi Kang Hee's radio program "Night Flight. "It took over 50 takes. If there ever was a NG award, it would definitely have been awarded to us."

He had memorable kiss scenes with two actresses in Triangle. There was the racy kiss scene when Kim Hye Eun's character impatiently pulled him into her hotel room. the actress said it made her real-life husband jealous. Then there was his sweet kiss scene with co-star Baek Jin Hee. There's no word on how long either of those kissing scenes took to film but they were both cinematically effective.

In "Spy" Kim Jaejoong plays a genius intelligence analyst who does not know his mother is a North Korean sleeper spy. His love interest, played by Go Sung Hee, is a seemingly innocent girl with a secret.

In the perspective of actors in their 20s, there is no satisfaction in just acting itself. This is because, to them as an actor, drinking the first drink, chewing, digesting and even “excretion”; the process of such accomplishments can never be easy. ‘Will I do well in the end?’ particularly when there is no choice but to feel burdened for having a highly-reputed movie as a debut movie. And what more when he was given the lead role in Producer Bong Junho and Director Shim Sungbo’s production knows as Haemoo. Park Yuchun understands this point better than anyone else.

“I thought for sure that I will not be able to win the Blue Dragon Award. Because I was so sure, I was surprised when my name was called. Actually, I was very nervous and I really did not expect to make it to the Blue Dragon Awards.” Adding, “Looking back in retrospect, I was so anxious that it seemed like I was stubbornly insisting on wearing clothes that did not match. The company was also against it at first so, I was worried. Even if I were to put aside the worries of my own acting ability, I was also thinking if I should be presenting myself as the role of Dongshik in Haemoo when I would still continuously be a part of a group known as JYJ. I had no other doubts except those. Dialect is a worry in itself but at the same time putting on a seaman’s costume and makeup while having to show a natural appearance, it was uncomfortable and I was anxious,” he confessed to us calmly.

Park Yuchun’s doubt and sincerity were laid out all at once. Truth is, he did not come to the post-ceremony reception where all the award winners gathered. I was curious about the reason why did he not appear so I tried to ask. And I came to form an idea out of it.

“As an actor, there are times when I feel unconfident. Even these days I have nightmares and when I awake, I realized what I dreamed of was that there were staff, other actors and everybody were there and they were doing actions but I could not do anything. I was stammering. Then, I woke up. It was frightening. In the beginning, it was a situation in which I was not able to do anything, and that was acting, then I learned to get use to that situation. Even then, there are times when I still feel afraid when standing in front of the camera. Sometimes, I doubt whether or not I’m putting in the right emotions while acting and that is scary.”

So, that is why Park Yuchun said that as an actor he feels uncomfortable to be at the celebration venue. “Do I really need to celebrate? Actually, it’s also partly because not many people from the Haemoo team came. Like what Miss Kim Youngae of ‘The Attorney’ said about her regrets in the movie, ‘Cart’ when she received the award, that’s how it is for me too. The more I watch ‘Haemoo’…I feel that there were parts which could have been done better.

As he recalls about ‘Haemoo’ he pitched in a word and that was, ‘Exhausted.’ “It’s not that I’m tired but my concentration was worn out. Particularly in the stowaway scene in ‘Haemoo’ which took a fortnight to film. My concentration was exhausted during the filming of that scene.” We can feel how immersed he was when he was filming ‘Haemoo.’ On top of that, the great teachings which he had learned from ‘Haemoo’ was brought up.

“In preparation for ‘Haemoo’ there were times when we drank in the middle of the day. We ate dried pollack soup on Level 3 and many times, to avoid smoking in front of the director and other sunbaenims, I went down to Level 1 to smoke. After doing this for several times, the sunbaenims told me, “Don’t do this.” After that I could sit at the same table as the sunbaenims face-to-face to drink, smoke and I realized that the sunbaenims like it too. That’s when I got to know. When I was young, whenever there were seniors around, I am concerned about everything [T/N: his actions and behaviors]. Then now, I learned about the way to converse with the director and sunbaenims politely. I also got to know something as important as that.”

He also pulled out an episode from the past. “There was a time when I first filmed ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal.’ At that time, I had to memorize the script thoroughly. Even though I’ve prepared everything, the thought of ‘I need to do this well’ was very strong. However when I went to the scene, I found myself not being able to do anything when things progressed slightly differently. No matter what I was doing, I was having a hard time. So starting from ‘Rooftop Prince’ I tried to better match the breathing of my counterpart [T/N: to be more in sync with his co-actors/actresses]. Then, I discovered that reading the script alone as opposed to reading it with co-actors/actresses is very different.”

Myself and the sunbaenims also had this kind of dream when shooting ‘Haemoo.’ It will be great if ‘Haemoo’ will be screened during the public holidays. It will be really awesome if after about 10 years, when the whole family would suddenly turn on the TV together and ‘Haemoo’ shows. I had that thought.” But since it is a ’19 and above’ movie, it will not be slotted into a family time slot and Park Yuchun says, “It should be shown during the wee hours,” and laughed.

Not long ago, he took the staff on a spontaneous trip to Haemoo’s filming site. “All of a sudden we went to Geoje Island once again. I missed the sea and the street vendor there. We went to the restaurant where I used to go when filming. I went there after a long time, so I was even given Sulju (pine alcohol).”

After the Blue Dragon Awards ceremony ended, all the people involved discussed about one thing. Do you know Park Yuchun? The fact that he won the award completely through his acting only…It was not through his fandom or by appearing in a blockbuster. I wanted you to know the fact that he won the award by portraying the character of Dongshik. Of course, this result is not a pride but a qualification for an actor who is doubtful.

“Spy” Kim Jaejoong Will Donate Household Appliances to North Korean Defectors If Ratings Surpass Ten Percent

On January 6, Kim Jaejoong attended a press conference for new KBS2 drama “Spy,” which was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Gangnam.

When asked whether he will make any ratings promises, Kim Jaejoong replied, “If viewership ratings in the Seoul capital area surpasses 10 percent, I will gift household appliances to thirty North Korean defectors.”

In “Spy,” Kim Jaejoong will play Kim Sun Woo, a child genius and ace of the National Intelligence Service, who is very cold and principled but also has a warmer and tenderer side. Kim Jaejoong expressed his desire to make sure that this two-sidedness of Kim Sun Woo does not look forced or unnatural.

Meanwhile, “Spy” is a secret intelligence family thriller that is loosely based on popular Israeli drama “Gordin Cell” (also known as “MICE”). The drama follows the story of Kim Sun Woo after he discovers the secret past of his ex-spy mother (Bae Jong Ok) who risked her life in a gamble to save his.

JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong described his co-star Go Sung Hee as an actress who leaves a lasting impression.

On January 6, Kim Jaejoong attended the press conference for the upcoming drama “Spy.” A reporter asked him to compare the various kiss scenes he’s filmed over the years. He answered, “There’s no specific comparison that comes to mind, but the picture and feel of the scene changes greatly depending on the actress I’m filming with.”

He shared his thoughts on kiss scenes with his current co-star, Go Sung Hee, saying “With Go Sung Hee, we’re very natural together and there’s some sort of emotion [present between us]. Whether we have a kiss scene or we have to hold hands, she leaves an impression that lasts long after the scene is over. I’m looking forward to kiss scenes.”

In “Spy,” Kim Jaejoong plays Kim Sun Woo, a genius analyst for the NIS. Bae Jong Ok plays his mother Park Hae Rim, an ex-spy from North Korea. Go Sung Hee plas Lee Yoon Jin, his romantic interest. “Spy” tells the story of a North Korean ex-spy who now lives an ordinary life as a housewife but is given orders to bring in her son, who is a spy for South Korea. The first episode will air on January 9.

Drama 'SPY', A Usual Family Is Endangered For What? 

[by Woorim Ahn, photo by Kwon Hee Jung] How would you feel if one of your family members is a spy? KBS new drama 'SPY' depicts a warm family story, but at the same time, it has the stories of hidden dangers of a specific family.

The production and press conference of KBS drama 'SPY' was held on January 6 at the Grand Ball Room of Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Gangnam, Seoul. Bae Jong Ok, Kim Jaejoong, Yoo Oh Sung, Ko Sung Hee, Kim Min Jae, Cho Dal Hwan, Ryu Hye Young and main producer Park Hyun Suk gathered altogether to hold production and press conference.

First of all, the event began with KBS Drama Department Director's short speech. He said, "KBS and the producer tried their best to contact with original drama of 'SPY', which is Israel drama 'MICE'. They could finally get permission and reproduce the drama into Korean version." 

After the short speech of the director, a 10-minute preview video of the drama was on the screen. Although it was short, the video left a strong impression of the actors and actresses starring in the drama - it was more likely a movie.

It was the producer who started to tell about the drama. He introduced his drama by saying, "I tried my best to produce laughter for everyone. I could make it possible since there were many actors and actresses that decided to work with me. From the first episode to the last one, I will put everything into this work to make the audience laugh and enjoy."


Since it was first time for Jaejoong to star in KBS dramas, he revealed his thoughts about it. He kept saying "I like it" over and over again to highlight his thrill of appearing in KBS drama. About a question asking his tips in kiss scenes, he said, "I think Ko Sung Hee is an alluring actress. After a romance scene with her, it lingers in my mind. As much as this, she is a great actress." Despite of a mischievous question, he kindly answered without being embarrassed. 

What would Bae Jong Ok think about her character Hyerim since she is a former spy and devotes herself for her family? She mentioned, “I chose to play a role of spy since I liked the scenario. When I got the synopsis, I really enjoyed reading it.”

Yoo Oh Sung, who is the villain of the drama, said about his role, “I feel a great responsibility about this drama. Whatever my role does in it, I will trust what the producer and scriptwriter tell and follow their directions.”

Jaejoong’s colleague Cho Dal Hwan mentioned about Kim Jaejoong’s first impression, “When I first saw him face to face, I was surprised at his good look. I thought he was a character from a cartoon. Actually, before I met him, many of my colleagues kept complementing him, so I was curious how he really would be and he is really nice and kind. He looks a bit cold and chic, but he is not” and praised Jaejoong.

During the interview, Ko Sung Hee got a question about her happening at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards. She showed up behind MCs while they were hosting the event. About this, she said, “I didn’t mean to do it. It was my first time to attend the event, so I was nervous from the beginning of the awards, so I couldn’t pay attention to what other people do after they received the awards. Actually, I was pretty well-known as a person who easily gets lost.”

While the interview was going on, Kim Jaejoong didn’t forget to express his appreciation towards his fans. He mentioned, “Since my fans keep sending various things to the filming site, I can become bolder at the site. The casts and staff always appreciate me and treat me well, but this is all because of my beloved fans.”

Since the drama has many competitive programs, the main role Kim Jaejoong listed the reasons why the audience should watch ‘SPY’. He said, “It airs on KBS and as I know of, this is first time for KBS to try this genre. Moreover, since the drama will air two episodes a day, the audience doesn’t have to wait for the other episode.”

He also made his pledge with a condition. He mentioned, “If the audience view percentage goes higher than 10%, I will invite 30 North Korean defectors and give presents to them.”

Would Kim Jaejoong make his pledge come true? Drama ‘SPY’ has a unique story unlike typical love story dramas. Jaejoong’s family in the drama has to deceive each other for the family. Among the conflicts, the drama will depict growth and reconciliation between the family members.

JYJ′s Kim Jae Joong couldn′t hide his happiness on entering into KBS.

On January 6, KBS′ Spy held its press conference at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Grand Ballroom in Yeoksam-dong, where Kim Jae Joong shared his thoughts on appearing in a KBS drama for the first time.

In Spy, Kim Jae Joong will act out the genius analyst with an unsuual brain, Sun Woo. With the strong relationship with his mother, played by Bae Jong Ok, he will be fiercely battling against a North Korean spy, acted by Yoo Oh Sung.

On this day, Kim Jae Joong stated, "I′m so happy," being able to confidently enter into a KBS drama as the lead.

"I′m so happy beyond description," said Kim Jae Joong with honesty. He added with a smile, "I love KBS dramas."



KBS′s new drama, Spy is based on the popular Israeli drama, The Gordin Cell, about a mother who risks everything for her son and the son who discovers his mother′s hidden past. The drama will begin on January 9, airing back to back episodes from 9:30 PM to 11:10 PM KST.

"The Triangle actors and I sometimes grab drinks and stay in touch," said Kim Jae Joong. "We don′t always just talk about acting, and in the case of Im Si Wan, he called saying that filming tvN′s Misaeng is more difficult."

"When he′s resting, I get a lot of calls saying it′s really hard. I don′t know why he calls me when he′s struggling, but because we live close, he says things like, ′Let′s eat′ and ′I want to drink."

Kim Jae Joong added, "I recently ate with Shin Seung Hwa hyung, Lee Yoon Mi nuna, and Shorry hyung. Once I do a project together, I continously contact them and meet. I don′t think we really talk about work during that time."
