What's in a name?
The meaning of K-pop idol groups are sometimes filled with meaning, but the name of trio JYJ is taken from the first letters of the names of after its members- Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu. On August 25, during the fourth annual JYJ Membership Week event, two of the members revealed that the group was nearly named "Tri-Sexual."
Kim "XIA" Junsu revealed that he had thought up the possible name for the group in order to make a big impact.
Kim and Park Yoochun discussed their naming process at the event, and Park made it clear that Kim was the one to think of the name.
"Is it okay to say this?" Kim asked the audience before revealing the name. "At the time there was Lady Gaga [gaining popularity], and we wanted to be more global. So we said let's go for something more powerful." He paused before revealing the name.
"Doesn't it sound like panties?" Park asked the audience to a lot of laughs. "Red panties."
The third member of JYJ, Kim Jaejoong, did not attend the event due to his military service. Similarly, the membership week event was one of Park's final events before enlisting in the Korean military on August 27.
JYJ was formed in 2010, following the trio's departure from SM Entertainment's quintet TVXQ. The group's last album was "Just Us," released in 2014.

A photo of JYJ member Park Yu Chun at a training center have been released. The photo of Park Yu Chun has been making its rounds on various online communities on September 1.
In the photo, Park Yu Chun is seen posing for a photo with his colleagues. Baseball player Lee Tae Yang, who entered the training center with the JYJ member, can be spotted in the photo as well.
Park Yu Chun entered the Nonsan Training Center in Chungnam on August 27, where he will be receiving five weeks of basic training before fulfilling his duties as a public service worker for the next two years. Park Yu Chun entered in private after expressing that he wished to enlist quietly.
Instead, Park Yu Chun showed his love for his fans leading up to the days of his enlistment through fan meetings in Korea and Japan. He successfully wrapped 2015 JYJ Membership Week at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul on August 25, two days before his enlistment.
Meanwhile, Kim Jae Joong entered the army as an active duty soldier at the end of March.

The picture, which shows the location of Yoochun's boot camp, is unsurprisingly receiving a lot of attention from fans. The singer was admitted into a training facility in the city of Nonsan this past August 27. Due to his wish to enlist quietly, Yoochun had avoided getting the media involved in his departure to the military, though he did say goodbye to his fans at a fan meet.

MEMBERSHIP WEEK,' which was held at Seoul Arts Gallery from August 17th
until 30th, was successfully finished. Approximately twenty thousand
fans attended the event, and made another unforgettable memory with JYJ
members.
'JYJ MEMBERSHIP WEEK' was held as a photo exhibition this year, and approximately one thousand photos of JYJ were displayed.
Performance videos, costumes, music video sets, and many other contents were also displayed as the membership week, and a great number of fans showed explosive reactions for the event.
On August 25th, JYJ members held an official fan meeting as a part of the membership week, and expressed profound gratitude for the tremendous amount of love and supports that many fans showed for them during last six years.
JYJ members also sold displayed photos for auction, and donated all of the profits from the auction to a charity that supports young artists.
Another representative of C-JeS Entertainment said, "JYJ MEMBERSHIP WEEK is an annual event that gives JYJ members and their fans chances of much more intimate communication, and we would like to express profound gratitude to everyone for their phenomenal love and supports. We promise to keep doing our best for better and bigger events."
Meanwhile, JYJ is going to hold another membership week in 2016.
