He got to taste papaitan and kilawin, played games with his fans and felt sentimental upon his return to the Philippines.

The singer-actor, a member of boy band JYJ, was visibly pleased to see his fans, many of whom have been supporting him since his debut.
“It’s been a long, long time. Kamusta kayong lahat? It’s been like 11 years since I last visited. I’m sorry that it took me so long to come back,” he greeted them. When he was still a member of TVXQ, he and the other members went to the Philippines in 2006 to shoot an ad.
Jaejoong arrived in Manila a day before the fan meeting and his first impression? “Wait, was Philippines like this hot? When I first came to the Philippines, it was all new for me. What I feel right now, (it’s like) it didn’t take me that long since the last (time) I came here because you are so friendly.”
At the event, fans were able to ask Jaejoong and vice versa. In one segment, he picked seven photos of fans from a board and answered their questions.
Asked where he wanted to go in the Philippines, he said, “All the people, friends around me have mentioned Cebu.”
His drama credits include “Dr. Jin,” “Protect The Boss,” “Spy” and the recently concluded “Manhole.” One fan asked his next drama project and he replied, “I think it’s challenge for me and it’s gonna be next year.”

“Manhole” is a time-travel drama and when asked where he wanted to go given the chance to go back in his life, he said, “I don’t want to go back because I’m currently very happy. If ever I get the chance to time travel, maybe a month ago. I don’t wanna go far back because that’s also a part of my life.”
In another portion, Jaejoong asked fans to answer questions including the thing that Filipinos are good at, which he said is singing.
“I’ve actually searched some YouTube videos about Filipino contestants singing, they are so good. I thought everybody walking down the street, they are also good at singing. I think it’s like a nation (full of singers),” he said.
Three fans were selected to play with Jaejoong for the charades game and in the end, Claudine Legaspi won and had a photo with Jaejoong while wearing a shirt that he lent her.
As part of his cultural immersion, Jaejoong also tasted Filipino food papaitan, kilawin, sisig and chicharong bulaklak along with local beer and received “punishment” each time he got a “yes” card. In the dare by fans, he wrote his name using his behind, was asked to dance to Bruno Mars’ “Versace On The Floor” and do “aegyo” or demonstration of cute affection.
He also sang Filipino songs and the fans had to guess the titles, and danced to “Otso Otso,” “Whoops Kirri,” “Spaghetti Song” and “Pamela One.”
The last part of the fan meeting was Jaejoong performing his songs including “You Know What?” and “Good Morning Night” and asked the crowd, “Nag-enjoy ba kayo?” Salamat po.”

“When I was doing the fan sign earlier, the fans were saying, ‘Thank you really, thank you for coming.’ I actually came here because I heard the fans were really excited to see me. But right now, I’m am very much excited and happy to see you also. You guys are gonna make me come back, right?” he asked to which the fans replied with a resounding “yes.”
He promised to return, saying, “I’m definitely looking forward to come back as soon as possible. Although we’re apart, from Korea to the Philippines, in Korea I’m gonna show you my best.”
As Jaejoong sang his last song “Now Is Good,” fans raised banners that read “Today is an unforgettable miracle” to express their appreciation to him for coming to the Philippines. He thanked them all and said, “I love you.”

you’ve been a fan of K-Pop since the early 2000s, we bet you’ve gushed
over the “vocal gods” that is DBSK back in 2006. They’re probably even
the reason why you got into the K-pop scene! Unforunately, they
eventually broke up and never got to do a concert here in the
Philippines.
But thank goodness destiny found a way!
Last November 30, the ultimate “visual shock” of K-Pop and former DBSK member, Kim Jaejoong, has finally come to Manila to meet his Pinoy fans. It was a super intimate fanmeet attended by fans of DBSK and JYJ (his current group which consists of two other former DBSK members.) It’s like meeting your first love after so many years! Full of nostalgia and love, here are some of the best moments from the fanmeet:

walking along Araneta Center might have looked twice when they saw
people wearing pajamas on the street. That’s because the fanmeet’s theme
is pajama party! It reminded us of the time when every male K-pop
groups back then tried to be aegyo. A fan even wore a Victoria’s Secret
lingerie that the host even called her onstage to participate in one of
the games. The girl obviously didn’t expect to interact with her idol…

course, if you’re an old K-Pop fan, you would definitely know Kring
Elenzano-Kim. She has been hosting K-Pop events ever since, and she has
married an oppa herself! Talk about goals! Her witty and funny hosting
definitely hyped up the crowd, especially that she’s a fan of Jaejoong
herself.He sang some of his songs.. and danced to DBSK’s Rising Sun!
The first half part was all fun and games, but everyone definitely waited to hear him sing live. He finally showed off his powerful vocals by the end, when he sang Now is Good and Good Morning Night which made us want to slap our faces to see if this was real. His brief dancing to DBSK’s Rising Sun even made our hearts skip a beat!

one of our favorite segments: fans were delighted to hear Jaejoong hum
along to some OPM hits while they guess the title of the songs. Some
songs featured were “Basang-basa sa Ulan” by Aegis, “Tadhana” by UDD and
“Forevermore” by Side A. He sang “Forevermore” so well! Jaejoong also
danced along to some Pinoy pop hits like the “Spaghetti Song”, “Whoops
Kiri”, and “Otso Otso” which hyped up the Pinoy fans!The tagay segment!

from the charming Kim Jae Joong, another person that left an impression
was none other than his interpreter. People have been pointing out his
good looks during the fanmeet! Apparently, he’s a student from the
University of Santo Tomas, and he’s also served as translator in many

K-Pop has definitely formed unique friendships over the years through concerts, fan gatherings and social media. And Jaejoong’s fans are some of the pioneers in the scene: they’ve waited since 2003 for this to happen! Their love for K-Pop remain strong. Jaejoong’s PH comeback after 11 years
It was still the heyday of DBSK, Jae Joong’s former group, when they went to the Philippines for an ad shoot. Sadly, they never get to have a concert here until the group’s eventual break-up, with Kim Jae Joong forming the group JYJ with the other two members of TVXQ. Imagine how emotional the fans were when they finally heard his angelic voice.

JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong, Kim So Hyun, Jang Moon Bok And More Win At 2017 Korea Hallyu Awards
The 2017 Korea Hallyu Awards has announced this year’s winners!
The annual ceremony gives a total of 28 awards in the six categories Popular Culture, Traditional Culture, Cultural Tourism, Cultural Industry, International Exchange, and Special Awards.
In the Popular Culture category, the singer award goes to Kim Jae Joong, the actor award goes to Kim So Hyun, and the hip hop award goes to Sleepy. The drama award goes to “Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People,” while the film award goes to “A Taxi Driver.” Ahn Jae Wook wins the lifetime achievement award.
As a special award, Jang Moon Bok takes the Rising Star award.
The ceremony for the 2017 Korea Hallyu Awards will take place on December 7 at the National Assembly of South Korea.

2017 Kim Jaejoong Fan Meeting in Manila: fans’ euphoria that took years in the making
They say a lot can change in a year. Contrary to that popular belief, Kim Jaejoong’s fans have proven their loyalty and support for him can withstand the test of time.
It took over a decade for Jaejoong to return to the Philippines, and 14 years to finally meet his fans through a fan meeting in the country. Since his debut in 2003, the singer-actor has been blessed with various TV appearances, dramas and two full-length solo albums under his belt. After his busy schedule from the recently concluded drama Manhole, he was able to pull off a way to thank his fans personally through a series of fan meetings around Asia.The 2017 Kim Jaejoong Asia Tour Fan Meeting, which kicked off in Seoul last October finally made its way to Philippine shores on Thursday, November 30 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
The night was not only intimate – the fans were clad in their favourite sleepwear like cute animal onesies, fiery red satin nighties and colourful pairings of pajamas – but also armoured in thousands of beaming glow sticks that filled the venue in a sea of red when the show began.
Jaejoong swept his fans off their feet, collecting his thoughts and reminiscing the first time he set foot in the country. He was excited to see for himself what Filipino K-pop fans are known for – the loudest cheers and happiest screams.
While dubbed a pajama party, the event felt more like a housewarming party, one where we Filipino hosts welcome our Korean guest with trivia and stories, before serving food and drinks and capping it all off with dancing.
Before the show started, fans could submit their photos in the designated drop box for a chance to ask Jaejoong questions. The lucky few who were chosen received merchandise items which the “Love You More” singer signed right there and then.
The next segment was “payback time”, as Jaejoong took the opportunity to see how well his fans know him. He asked questions such as the place he loves to go to, the thing that he was losing as he grew older, what Filipinos were good at and famous for, and a description for his fans in audience. (The answers are derma clinic, stamina, singing and “in their 20’s”, respectively).
Following the trivia section was a game loved by many – charades. Three lucky female fans in their respective sleepwear had a chance to get up close and personal with Jaejoong, playing the game which required the heartthrob’s full attention.
The dishes with the plates marked “Yes” meant that Jaejoong would have to take dares from a bowl filled with suggestions from fans. These include writing his name using his butt, dancing to Bruno Mars’s “Versace on the Floor”, while attempts at aegyo were among the “punishments” he served. The former also danced briefly to TVXQ’s 2005 hit “Rising Sun” which gave everyone a legitimate #ThrowbackThursday treat.
The K-pop veteran first wowed everyone with his quick pick-up of dance steps from Filipino novelty songs. He then expressed a concern for children as he asked why the music videos had children dancing in it, to which Kring later clarified that novelty songs are for the whole family and enjoyed by many Filipino viewers.
Jaejoong was also made to listen to popular Filipino songs and make the audience guess what songs he was listening to by humming them. His prowess was obvious. He was able to convey the melodies note to note, making it easy for the fans to guess the titles correctly.
The last hour of the show were all about Jaejoong’s solo works. He serenaded the fans with songs from his albums, including “You Know What?”, “My Only Comfort”, “Runaway”, “Now Is Good”, and the song that kept everyone dancing and singing along, “Good Morning Night”.
