2009 Timeline
January 21, 2009 – Tohoshinki (as TVXQ/DBSK is known in Japan), they released "Bolero / Kiss the Baby Sky / Wasurenaide.” It reached #1 on the Oricon charts. “Wasurenaide” written and composed by Kim Jaejoong. “Kiss the Baby Sky” written and composed by Park Yoochun.
February 21, 2009 – Won the Bonsang award and the Mobile Popularity award at the 18th Seoul Music Awards
February 2009 – 3rd Asia Tour: Mirotic kicks off and makes stops at Seoul Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, and Bangkok.

February 2009 – TVXQ performs at SM Town Live in Bangkok.
March 20, 2009 – Japanese movie “Subaru” is released. Tohoshinki made a brief appearance in the movie. Their single “Bolero” was a theme song for “Subaru.”
March 25, 2009 – Tohoshinki releases its 4th Japanese album “The Secret Code” and debuts and #2 on the Oricon charts. “The Secret Code” marks their 8th album overall. It earns a platinum certification after selling over 317,000 copies in Japan alone.
April 22, 2009 – Their 27th single, “Share The World/We Are!” debuts at #1 (their 6th No. 1 in Japan). The song was used in the anime “One Piece.”
An audience of 279,500 saw the 21-show tour.
Tohoshinki became the first Korean group to perform at the Tokyo Dome where the last two shows of the tour were performed.

July 31, 2009 – Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment claiming unfair distribution of profits, excessively long contract of 13 years, and schedules booked without confirmation or permission of the members. Contract terms had been extended and changed without their knowledge or consent. Early termination of their contract would cost them twice the profit that the group would be estimated to earn for SM for the rest of their contract period.
August-September 2009 – Tohoshinki performed in A-Nation.

September 30, 2009 – 4th Live Tour: The Secret Code DVD released and 353,000 copies. It’s the first time in 20 years a foreign artist peaked at #1 on the Oricon DVD rankings.
October 2009 – The Seoul Central District Court granted the trio a temporary contract injunction, and TVXQ's group activities in Korea were suspended.
October 2, 2009 – 3rd Asia Tour: Mirotic continues in Shanghai. When the November 21 Shenzhen concert is cancelled due to ongoing legal issues, the Shanghai concert becomes their last concert performance as a group of five.

December 30, 2009 – TVXQ won the Premium Award at the 51st Japanese Record Awards
